ChinaSMACK translates a posting over at Chinese BBS Mop entitled “Birth of 2010’s most awesome environmental protector — Brother Power! His resplendent debut shocks the whole world” — awesome about covers it (and there’s a lot needing covering in this story).

Contrary to what the sequence of pictures show (see them all at ChinaSMACK) this crazy Anhui resident has some set of balls. Stripping down to his streaking best he jumped in front of this taxi and began trying to lift it while shouting “Give me power!!!.” When the weight of the car proved too much for him he refused to give up and instead declared “Evil and ugly modern society, retreat!!!!“.
Eventually the police were called and they struggled with the awkwardness of getting this rather determined naked guy to cooperate. Brother Power was able to slip under the police vehicle (likely due to all that lifting creating a bit of a slippery sheen). Eventually a doctor lent a hand and got Brother Power in a car, but not without a final shout of “Modern society will retreat!!! I will be back!!”
As ever, huge props to ChinaSMACK for taking the time to translate the best and worst that Chinese forums have to offer. And Brother Power, we await your return!

this guy gets demi-god status in my books – only in China, eh.
I saw this article on ChinaSmack a couple of weeks ago, and at first I thought this guy was some sort of rad environmentalist. Sad to find out he was more of a loon than anything else. It’s a great story, really funny, legendary photos, but (and I hate to be that guy) isn’t a bit exploitive of people with mental problems to be furthering along this post? I expect this sort of thing out of ChinaSmack, but in my opinion this story definitely falls under the “nonsense” category.
Ah, but wouldn’t it be prejudice if we ignored it under the assumption that a person with mental problems running naked in the street and attacking taxis isn’t noteworthy? My feeling is, once you step out of your clothes and step into a crowded shopping area, you’re about as public domain as you can get. But if you need a do-gooder angle I’m willing to put forward that the exposure (no pun intended) that Brother Power has gotten can only help highlight the polarized aspects of mental disorders and how they’re taken care of in China. Really though, it’s just a naked dude attacking a taxi.
