It would seem that it’s becoming more and more popular to mine your stat programs for blog topics, and we’d be remiss here at Lost Laowai if we didn’t do the same. Now I’m not going to go on and on about how our number of visitors have doubled in three months (yep… went from 1.5 people to 3… wait… I mean 6,000 to 12,000 – yeah, amazes me too)… rather, I’m going to focus, as many have, on the weird things people searched for in the month of December and ended up coming here…
Number one on the list was “guangzhou china working girls” … alright, not too weird. Our blog isn’t really about Guangzhou, but we featured the city’s new motorbike law recently.
Here are a few more:
Search Term | Google Rank |
‘dog erection’ | 1st |
‘2 dog erections’ | 6th |
‘eat titties’ | 5th |
‘how many people ride the bus’ | 1st! |
And the one I’m most proud of… | |
‘guide chinese booze’ | 2nd |
It amuses me not because of the randomness and amusingness of the search terms, but rather because I just can’t imagine typing in these words for any reason… not even that bus one… I mean, that’s a pretty random statistic to want to know. And the last one, well… I just feel honored people are turning to us for their inebriation knowledge.
I’d like to thank Rick and his wonderfully titled posts for bringing a demographic to our site that I had never considered might be readers. I’d also like to thank the China Blog List for being our #1 referrer for December.
Incidently, we also made #9 in the list of Top Ten China Blogs (in English) at TenSpotting – not bad for a blog that’s only been around for a couple months and is still finding its feet.
